Woodlands Soccer Club Joins Premier Development League For 2012 Season
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (November 22, 2011) United Soccer Leagues (USL) recently announced that the Texas Dutch Lions FC will join the Premier Development League (PDL) for the 2012 season and will operate a team in the national women’s soccer league (W-League) starting in 2013. The organization will also acquire a USL professional team for the 2013 season. The Dutch-American youth and professional soccer club in The Woodlands is an affiliate partner of the Dutch Eredivisie club, FC Twente, and the English premier league club, Manchester United. Texas Dutch Lions’ parent company, Dutch Lions FC, already operates professional teams in the USL and the W-League, as well as a youth academy in Dayton, Ohio.
The club will develop prominent PDL and W-League teams while training young talented players from The Woodlands and Conroe for professional soccer careers. Based on the renowned Dutch development philosophy, which is ranked first in quality by soccer’s international governing body, FIFA, Dutch Lions FC emphasizes the technical and tactical fundamentals taught only by licensed coaches, professionals, and former players.

The Texas Dutch Lions PDL team will play a 16-game schedule between the months of May-August.
